About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Orange, CA, Mariscos Mocorito is a vibrant Mexican seafood restaurant that promises an authentic taste of coastal Mexico right off E Katella Ave. Specializing in fresh, high-quality seafood dishes that transport you straight to the Pacific shore, this local gem is a must-visit for anyone craving bold and genuine flavors.

The attentive and friendly staff elevate the experience, making every visit feel like coming home to a beloved neighborhood spot.

The menu here is a treasure trove of Mexican seafood delights. A standout favorite that continually earns rave reviews is the Molcajete De Mariscos, a sizzling blend of shrimp, octopus, abalone, oyster, and aguachile served fresh and bursting with vibrant, zesty flavors. Perfectly complemented by a refreshing, perfectly chilled Michelada, this dish is a celebration of Mexico’s rich coastal culinary traditions.

If you love ceviche, the Tostadas De Ceviche—offered in both shrimp and fish varieties—are light yet rich with citrusy brightness, served on crisply toasted tortillas that provide the perfect crunch. For taco aficionados, the Tacos De Camaron and the uniquely crafted Marlin Fish Taco offer an unforgettably fresh ocean bite, each adorned with traditional toppings that balance smoky, spicy, and tart notes flawlessly.

Seafood lovers will also appreciate hearty options like the Caldo De Mariscos, a warm and comforting seafood soup brimming with shrimp, octopus, and abalone—a sublime choice on a cooler day. Meanwhile, dishes such as Camarones Culichis (shrimp in a luscious cream sauce) and Camaron Enchilados (spicy shrimp served with rice and tortillas) showcase the kitchen’s ability to merge traditional flavors with robust, comforting sauces.

Mariscos Mocorito’s dedication to freshness is evident with every bite, a fact echoed by patrons like Gary Bruce, who praises the authenticity, and Octavio Ivan Palacios, who highlights the “delicious” dishes made from “fresh, good quality ingredients.” The restaurant’s efficiency and affordability make it a favorite neighborhood spot, as summed up by a customer known as whoa buddy, who appreciates the consistently fresh food served promptly and generously.

The dining experience here is more than just a meal; it’s a sensory journey. The lively colors, the tantalizing aromas of the sea, the satisfying textures of perfectly cooked seafood, and the cheerful hum of satisfied customers immerse you fully in a Mexican seafood feast. Whether you’re enjoying a shrimp cocktail on the cooler side of the “Barra Fria” or savoring a piping-hot Chimichanga or Chicharrones Rancheros from the “Barra Caliente,” every dish embodies a harmony of flavors that keep locals and visitors coming back repeatedly.

For families, the kids’ menu offers thoughtful options like Chicken Nuggets with Fries and Juice and Fish Sticks, ensuring that even the little ones leave happily fed and satisfied.

In my opinion is this a 5-star restaurant. The food is delicious and you can tell it is from fresh, good quality ingredients. The service is great, with all the staff being very friendly, and attentive to customers that need help. The atmosphere is also nice, being clean and not very crowded. It was very hot when I went but they did have air conditioner inside so that I also liked. Come here for delicious seafood and great service!!!

Quality and affordability is what this place is all about. The food is fresh it's almost always busy and there's a reason for that because of the food comes out quickly and ready to order and it's absolutely delicious.

Came here from a friends suggestion and so thankful we did. Each tostada only costs between $4.75 to $6.60 and comes stacked high with freshest tasting seafood. So much meat it was falling off on the plate and was enough to make an extra tostada. Definitely back here again soon. Friendly staff with fast service.

I felt the tacos were bit pricey. Everything else was reasonably priced. Really good flavor though!
